Article posted the other day,

Can TAMRON Model B011 be used with Canon EOS M5?

The thing I was worried about happened...

When I tried it at a Yodobashi Camera store, it wouldn't turn on due to a lens error.
I expected that, but it's still disappointing.

Tamron also made an official announcement regarding this matter.

When I attached our lens 18-200mm F/3.5-6.3 Di III VC (Model B011) to Canon's newly released mirrorless camera EOS M5, the camera did not turn on and could not be used. It turns out that.

We are currently investigating the detailed compatibility status between Canon EOS M5 and our lenses. As soon as we have more details, we will update them on the "Support Information" page.

Is this something like fate when using third-party lenses?

It would be nice if something could be done with a lens update like
with the EOS M3 I hope Tamron does something good.

So, I guess I'll have to wait a little longer before purchasing the EOS M5...
