What to do if you can't log in with the WordPress app for iPhone/iPad

Hello, this is naouniverse ( @naouniverse708 ).

The other day, I downloaded the WordPress app for iPhone/iPad, but for some reason I couldn't log in.

I solved that problem today, so I would like to introduce it to you.

After launching the app, tap Add installable site, and when the login screen appears, follow the steps in order.

  • Username/email address
  • password
  • Site address (URL)

What you need to be careful about here is the site address (URL).

Log in to the browser version of WordPress and check the general settings screen.

Check the general settings screen

The site address (URL) field on the login screen should be your WordPress address (URL).
By the way, "http://" can be omitted.

In my case, I was able to log in using the above method.
Well, it was quite a beginner's mistake (bitter smile).

Google 2-step verification may also be affected.

It seems that you may not be able to log in due to Google 2-step verification.
In that case, you need to disable the WordPress plugin "Google Authenticator".

The target plugins are here.

In my case, it was a basic mistake, but it's a bit troublesome if you can't log in due to a plugin.

So, I was able to log in for the time being, so I would like to play around with it.
